Ridgehaven is a comfortable, hostel-style facility built in a home like environment. We have 36 private rooms, 15 located upstairs and 21 downstairs, connected via walkways, stairs and lift. The rooms are light, airy and very well maintained.
Each room at Ridgehaven features a private ensuite, built-in wardrobe, and many offer access to a courtyard or landscaped garden. All rooms come with individual air-conditioning, a nurse call alarm, television sockets, and the option for a private phone line connection. For couples, interconnecting rooms are available.
The facility is surrounded by expansive gardens, inner courtyards, and secure areas. Hanging baskets decorate the verandahs and walkways, while our gardener and residents cultivate a variety of fruits and vegetables for our kitchen. Several shaded areas with comfortable chairs and tables provide pleasant spots for residents and visitors to enjoy the outdoors.
Our main lounge and dining area connects to a large kitchen where meals are prepared from scratch with fresh ingredients. Our cooks are dedicated to serving home-style meals that are nutritious, delicious, and tailored to meet the specific dietary needs of each resident. A semi-enclosed, shaded outdoor area near the kitchen is perfect for gatherings and barbecues.
Our on-site Maintenance Officer and Gardener ensure that everything remains in top condition, and our in-house laundry manages residents' personal items.
We use solar energy combined with general power supply and have a diesel generator for emergency backup.
Ridgehaven is situated in Monto, at the top of the North Burnett, approximately 196 km west of Bundaberg, 158 km south-west of Gladstone, and 238 km south-east of Rockhampton. Monto is surrounded by grazing and farming land, national parks, and is just south of the scenic Cania Gorge and Lake Cania. Our rural location offers a serene lifestyle that's hard to beat.
Monto Hospital and Monto Family Medical Practice are adjacent to our complex, and a helipad is located on the hospital grounds. Monto also has a small airport for emergency flights by the Royal Flying Doctors Service and other care flights. For commercial flights, Thangool/Biloela Airport is 95 km north.
