Nellie Melba Retirement Village and Aged Care Centre is nestled in the vibrant suburb of Wheelers Hill. It is conveniently located directly across the road from Brandon Park Shopping Centre, which has a variety of amenities such as a supermarket, cafes, bank and medical centre.
The village offers a range of comprehensive care options, from the light touch of a serviced apartment to residential aged care (low care and high care) and specialist dementia care. For those who choose fully independent living in our apartments, it’s reassuring to know our care services are there, in the village, if they ever need them.
The aged-care centre in Nellie Melba Retirement Village is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. A clinical manager and unit coordinators oversee the trained carers and registered nurses in the delivery of residents daily care with our staff ratios being some of the highest in the aged-care sector.
All the rooms are private and are spacious and air conditioned, with monitored call bells in the room and ensuite. Residents and families can choose from a selection of room layouts, all with an ensuite bathroom. The rooms are their own personal space, and they can furnish it to be comfortable and homely.
At Ryman, our care plans come to life through our own electronic care app, myRyman. This award winning app engages residents and their families in the care plan. Located in every care room, a device enables nurses and carers to view the care plan, and record daily care tasks for each resident.
We have emergency generators at every village because we want our residents and our people to be safe and comfortable in a power outage. It's not a requirement, but we believe it's important. Emergency generators provide power to our serviced apartments, aged-care centres, and village centres.
It all combines to create a haven for residents to relax in, with many rooms overlooking beautifully landscaped gardens or courtyards. There is plenty of space to welcome visitors and all rooms have a television.
Our staff work tirelessly to ensure the comfort and happiness of the residents and, if their needs change, they have priority access to other levels of care - right there in the village.
