Big changes have come in for aged care in Australia from 1 November 2025. The current system of Home Care Packages (HCP) and Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) is being replaced by a streamlined Support at Home program.
Instead of annual funding and rigid package levels, older Australians will receive quarterly budgets based on their Support at Home classification, with flexible service options and capped care management fees.
Additional funding streams for assistive technology, home modifications, restorative care, and end-of-life support will make it easier to tailor care to individual needs.
